 THE FORGOTTEN FRONT

Feature length, Historic, WWII Drama, LGBTQ+ Romance. 2021 Academy Nicholl Quarterfinalist.

Logline: When celebrated American actor Katharine “Kit” Cornell tours WW II Italy with a stellar troupe of actors performing a love story for G.I.s fighting there, her need to do all she can for the soldiers and her country collides with her desire to abandon her lavender marriage and be with the woman she loves.

Brief synopsos: The great Katharine Cornell embarks upon a tour with a troupe of actors to perform her signature role of Elizabeth Barrett in The Barretts of Wimpole Street for G.I.s fighting in World War II Italy. The U.S.O. and the Army predict failure for her long-hair drama, but the tour goes forward...as the G.I.s literally fight for the itinerary. Love is won and lost on and off the stage and sacrifices are made in this true story that rescues a lost piece of LGBTQ+ history and remembers a front that must never be forgotten.
